OMNYA ABDALLA

Omnya has a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University (2019). During her master’s studies, she investigated the effect of graphene oxide functionalization on the performance of ultrafiltration mixed matrix membranes. This marked the beginning of her admiration for research; it became a constant source of inspiration and intellectual growth for her. From 2021 to 2024, she worked as a research associate at GORD Institute in Doha, Qatar, where she explored the development of low-carbon and economically competitive cement. In this role, she was responsible for designing and conducting experiments, analyzing and interpreting data using statistical software, writing research manuscripts, collaborating with team members, and preparing research grant applications and funding proposals. She is eager to join the CONTRABASS project and explore the fundamental physicochemical processes governing the carbonation of clinker phases and cement paste.
