Loyford Muchui Mugambi

Loyford Muchui Mugambi obtained his bachelor’s degree in Education Science (Chemistry and Mathematics) in 2016 from Maseno University, Kenya. From 2019 to 2020, he taught Chemistry and Mathematics at Secondary School in Kenya. In 2020, he enrolled for Master of Science in Materials Chemistry at Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST)-Kenya, and graduated in 2023, with thesis titled ‘Evaluation of Physico-Chemical Properties of Expansive Soils Stabilized by Limestone Calcined Clay Cement.’ He earned an opportunity to participate in the 8th LC3 Doctoral School on Characterization Methods of Blended Cements, in EPFL-Switzerland from 29th June to 2nd July 2022. While awaiting his master’s graduation from 2022 to 2023, he acted as a research assistant at the Institute of Cement and Concrete at MUST, for projects focusing on blended cements. He has published one paper in the Journal of Sustainable Construction Materials and Technology. In 2024, he was selected as a PhD candidate for the CONTRABASS MSCA DN project as a DC4 in NTNU, Norway.
