BATOUL ASSI

Batoul Assi began her scientific journey in 2013, enrolling in the Physics Program at the Lebanese University in Beirut, Lebanon. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics in 2016. She then pursued her Master’s degree at Beirut Arab University where she chose to specialize in Material Sciences. Her studies involved synthesizing nanomaterial semiconductors doped with transition metals, followed by structural, optical, and magnetic characterization of the obtained compounds. Her Master’s degree was obtained in 2021.

Batoul started her Ph.D. on July 1st, 2024 under the supervision of Dr. Alexander Pisch at SIMaP Laboratory, University of Grenoble Alps. Her work will focus on computing the phase diagram and thermodynamic properties of CaCO3 polymorphs using a combined theoretical approach of DFT and AIMD calculations. She aims to transform these findings into coherent Gibbs energy data for kinetic and process simulations.
