Binh Au Duong

My journey in materials science began with a bachelor’s degree (2013 – 2017) in Polymer Chemistry at the HCM University of Science in Viet Nam. My fascination for advanced materials led me to pursue a Master of Science degree (2017 – 2018) in Polymer Physics-Chemistry at Université Du Mans in France.

To explore industrial experiences, I spent over 4 working years as an R&D Engineer (2019 -2021) at Saint-Gobain Vietnam, and as an R&D Chemist (2021-2023) at Sika AG Vietnam, where I dealt with projects on developing the formulations of cementitious products, concrete admixtures, and the additives for cement manufacturers.

My upcoming journey will begin with a PhD thesis under the guidance of Dr. Alejandro Fernandez-Martinez at ISTERRE, Université Grenoble Alpes, France. The project will investigate the nucleation and growth pathways of CaCO3 at solid-liquid-water interfaces through advanced technologies (Synchrotron X-ray scattering, FTIR, Raman, AFM, Quartz-Crystal microbalance, UV-Vis).
